FamilyWize
The North Texas Area United Way partners with FamilyWize to offer prescription benefit assistance. The FamilyWize Prescription Drug Discount Card enables you to receive up to 30% discounted pricing on prescription drugs. It can offer immediate savings on prescription drugs at participating pharmacies for people that have no health insurance, during deductible periods and for prescription medicine not covered by health insurance, Medicare and other benefit plans.
Since the start of the program in 2007, we have been able to assist with over 2,256 claims for a savings of over $37,000 to our community and families.
Indirect Impact Through Changing Systems
The North Texas Area United Way is working with diverse community stakeholders and community experts to improve the transportation system for older adults and the disabled in our community. Currently, there is no North Texas urban transportation program that provides free transportation for accessing community services and increasing mobility.
