The Women's Leadership Council (WLC) of the North Texas Area United Way creates a powerful leadership network of women who strengthen our community through investing in Education. In 2007, WLC partnered with the Imagination Library. The program provides age-appropriate books each month to children ages birth to five. Proceeds from the WLC's 2009 Power of the Purse raised over $10,000 to provide books to children in Wichita and Clay counties.
Message from the Chair
"In 2007, 7 women made a leadership commitment to help make real and lasting changes in our community. Two years later, 63 distinguished women have joined the WLC as guardians of our community.
The WLC focus goes beyond raising funds. We're raising hopes, creating opportunities and changing lives. The WLC has the power to generate change, to transform the tomorrows of those in need."
