Women Converge on Miami...
200 amazing women from across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada attended the 2009 Women’s Leadership Council Summit in Miami, Florida March 4th—6th. The summit gave women a chance to be part of a dynamic forum focused on establishing, growing and increasing the impact of their local Women’s Leadership Council.
Attendees learned key skills and strategies to advance the work of their WLC. They were inspired and empowered by like-minded women who are leading the way in advancing the common good. The summit raised awareness of the power of women to improve their communities by working together to give, advocate and volunteer.
North Texas Area United Way WLC members Lynn Moran, Dottie Morrison, Sharla Lyne, Stephanie Morris, and Diana Phillips all attended the fantastic summit. Our own Lynn Moran, 2007 WLC Chair and first ever women 2008 Board Chair, did a fantastic job in leading a panel discussion for women interested in starting their own WLC in their area.

Message from the Chair
"In 2007, 7 women made a leadership commitment to help make real and lasting changes in our community. Two years later, 63 distinguished women have joined the WLC as guardians of our community.
The WLC focus goes beyond raising funds. We're raising hopes, creating opportunities and changing lives. The WLC has the power to generate change, to transform the tomorrows of those in need."
Dottie Morrison
Chair, WLC
