Message from the Chair

"In 2007, 7 women made a leadership commitment to help make real and lasting changes in our community. Two years later, 63 distinguished women have joined the WLC as guardians of our community.

The WLC focus goes beyond raising funds. We're raising hopes, creating opportunities and changing lives. The WLC has the power to generate change, to transform the tomorrows of those in need."

Dottie Morrison

Chair, WLC

How I LIVE UNITED

My name is Trish

What better way to assure that young children become strong communicators than to teach them the importance of reading through the Imagination Library. Birth through age 5 are the formative years for doing this. Imagination Library provides the avenue to not only teach children that pictures can be described in words and words have meaning, but instills in them a love for the written word.

The rewards of volunteering are many. To see the face of a child light up at the sight of a new book or to see the face of a parent who knows that book represents quality time reading to their child, cannot be measured in monetary value. Nor can the value of the experiences gained through the reading be measured.

I LIVE UNITED by sharing my love for the written word with young children.
